Alberto Pedro Torriente

Actor, author / playwright

Alberto Pedro was born in Havana Cuba in 1954 where he lived as a playwright, poet, and actor. He acted both onstage and in film and television productions. He has performed a number of roles with Havana's Bertold Brecht Political Theatre Co. and Thatre of Steel, both of which have produced many of his subsequent plays. He also published "Water and Nostalgia", a well received book of poems, as well as many plays in the theater magazine "Tablas". Since 1989, he has been a member of Teatro Mio (My Theater), which has premiered his works "Malinche's Passion", "Helpless", "Lard", and "The Master and Marguerite" (adaptation). Alberto Pedro died June 4, 2005 in a hospital in Havana, Cuba at the age of 50.
