Teatro Prometeo was the only Spanish-language conservatory for actor training in the United States until 2016 when the conservatory closed. It has numerous renowned alums, including Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz. The group worked between 2000 and 2004 in Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus El teatrino. In 2004, the group was renamed Teatro Prometeo Theater and it opened with an eponymous theatrical space. It became Little Havana’s Koubek Center’s resident company between 2016 and 2019.
